Landman, at least one working in the oil industry, will act as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. It is usually the owner’s duty to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. They basically manage the land and secure the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, workers’ housing (the human camp), supervise the assembly of digging equipment and the drilling of the construction site itself, especially in remote areas. They are also part fixers, problem solvers and enablers. Reference CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). So far the show is good, very good, one feeling I can’t shake is my daughter. On the show, they claim the daughter is 17 and then proceed to sexualize her in an extreme way! Shower scene talking about sex with her dad showing her ass! All these scenes have nothing to do with the story and make it uncomfortable to watch. I understand what they are doing with the character, the daughter is going down the wrong path and her father is going to set her on the right path. She could have easily gotten away with just saying she’s 18, you can be 18 and still in high school! I wish they would rewrite his status and have no idea how he got to the editors.
