Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past
Fed up with being shuttled from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eats corn husks, and uses track practice as an opportunity to shower.
He’s haunted only by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
When night falls, he couldn’t be more different from the handsome, confident personality at school.
Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher who’s dealing with his own problems
She sees Nate’s latent talent and needs the care and guidance other teachers don’t have and wants to help.
But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of school and taken away in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police and not only gets him released on bail, but agrees to take Nate into his own home, despite raised eyebrows from his fellow teachers.
Stan is willing to do anything to help his troubled student
But the question is, can you really help someone if you’re not willing to help yourself?
