Synopsis
A Montana ranching family faces another encroachment on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an expert in the world of rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and revert to the SoCal voice he normally uses. Featured in WatchMojo: 10 Best Summer TV Shows That Aren’t on Your Radar (2018). I live in Darby, Montana, where most of this movie is filmed—they were just filming right across the street from me yesterday in a field with some horses and cattle. I think the series is a pretty solid story, and in that niche, where Costner does his best work. One thing I noticed about the first season, given my Native American side, is that it leaves you wondering who the good guys and the bad guys are—maybe both sides are good and bad. I admit it’s nice to see them filming when they’re here, the ranch is just a short drive from me and I pass by it almost every day on my way to fish in the Bitterroot River.
